Don’t blame your Metabolism

I have often heard people blame their metabolism for their failure to lose weight. But what you should know is that it’s not the metabolism but your dietary and lifestyle habits that are holding you back from making progress.

Metabolism refers to the amount of energy (calories) your body burns in a day. About 70% of your daily caloric expenditure goes towards your Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR), which is the min. energy required to keep your body functioning.

You can hack your metabolism with only these 2 simple changes -

Weight training and protein intake 🏋🏻‍♀️

Lean muscle requires calories just to exist; fat does not. A pound of muscle burns up to nine times the calories of a pound of fat. So you if have more lean muscle, your resting metabolic rate will be higher. Weight training promotes lean muscle mass development. Along with that, eat plenty of first class proteins such as Paneer, Chicken, Eggs, Milk, Eggs, Red Meat and Fish. The amino acids help in building lean muscle.

Avoid stress and get ample sleep 🧘‍♀️

Stress elevates levels of the hormone cortisol, which interferes with your body's production of insulin and makes it more difficult for you to process carbohydrates. If you're not resting, your body is not going to do a lot of things efficiently, including burning calories.

So before blaming your metabolism, try these simple methods and observe the changes it brings.
